Too Pretty For The Job
It's hard to believe that someone can be too attractive to get a job. Why are employers more apt to hire someone that is less attractive? If you are qualified for the job then what difference does it make? I don't know but I've been there. I went on an interview a couple months ago and I am certain that's why I didn't get the job. Not that I'm gorgeous or anything but I'm definitely not hideous. LOL! The doctor's wife was conducting the interviews. She even told me that I was the best candidate for the job. I didn't get the job and I feel that it is because she thought I was too attractive. Has anyone ever had this experience?

I have always looked at it to be the opposite. That employers seek out beautiful people to fill positions over someone who they consider not as pleasing to the eye. However, in certain rare cases an employer could go with someone who may be less attractive, but that may be in the case of someone who is insecure and wants all the attention to themselves.
ReplyDeleteHmmm.... I have never heard of this. It has always seemed that it was easier for the more attractive person to advance with the company.
